A Chilean native, I moved to Aotearoa New Zealand and started my PhD in 2009, motivated by the desire to reflect on the practical and theoretical concerns that emerged during my previous experience working in Chile in development and environmental marine issues. I have expertise in qualitative and quantitative approaches, which creates a bridge between marine biology and technical knowledge with social science disciplines. Previously I have been involved in environmental projects that mainly cover work related to biological, economic and social marine protected areas. My philosophy reflects my interest in collaborative, supportive and critical work.
